Yes indeed the classic 70's show which made the late Farrah Fawcet a star and poster girl for boys bedrooms around the world maybe returning to our small screens. ABC is the network that has asked Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) to write a pilot and executive produce the show. Of course we have already seen the franchise rebooted on the big screen when Drew Barrymore starred in and produced the 2000 movie version of the show, Barrymore will also be involved in the new ABC version.
To say nothing is sacred in TV these days is an understatement and it seems the networks feel yanking people's nostalgia chains is a much safer bet than asking them to make an effort to get to know new characters in a freshly written original series (yes, of course there are exceptions!). That said, any of the networks producing new shows, reboots or otherwise, is at least refreshing from the point of view that they are not simply offering us chat shows or reality programming.
Naturally I would check the show out if it came back to TV but it will need some seriously good writing if it's going to keep the attention of today's channel surfers.
