In a TV world where major networks give away their coveted 10pm weeknight drama spot to offer more mild (bland) chat shows it is refreshing to hear that AMC has just greenlit a new drama called Rubicon. It will be the channels third ongoing series joining critically acclaimed Mad Men and Breaking Bad and let's all join together and thank the holy TV gods that someone is still willing to fund the relatively costly process of creating original drama.
Admittedly I don't watch Breaking Bad but Mad Men to me is movie quality TV that is miraculously not on a premium channel like HBO or Showtime but instead on good old basic cable. I for one will be tuning in next year when Rubicon debuts as a political thriller starring Six Feet Under favorite Lili Taylor and every Brit's favorite Queen Miranda Richardson.
NBC take note.
