After the revellers have returned home from their New Years parties, once the hangovers are cured and we have taken down our Holiday decorations it is time for the TV networks to compete for our valuable couch time. January is the month we traditionally cut our spending on going out for meals and parties and focus on all things Small Screen.As we look ahead to the return of the big network TV shows in January 2009 TV.com has run down the return of the top ten shows they are most excited about (although how the series finale of ER didn't make the list I will never know!).

There are a few shows on the list I agree with them on, The earlier Tudors seasons are already in my Netflix queue so I will have to Tivo the new series and I loved the first season of Reaper (Kevin Smith fan that I am). Nip/Tuck never got it's claws into me but I think it might be worth Tivoing the new series while I catch up on past seasons on DVD. It's received such critical and popular acclaim and while the FX network don't get it right every time (Damages) you can't deny their track record for some of the best drama on basic cable.
