It seems Hugh Jackman is in the frame to host the the 81st Annual Academy Awards. I'm not exactly thrilled by this news as I think the host needs to have a bit more unscripted humor at their disposal which is why I got excited when I read the rumor about Ricky Gervais taking a turn. Chris Rock was my favorite in recent years and think he should be invited back for another crack of the whip. Whoopi? Letterman? Stewart? Rock? Crystal? Who did the best job so far in your opinion?
Found this article on digg. I hadn't heard that he was hosting--I guess it means he's not nominated for anything.
ReplyDeleteStill, Gervais would have been a better choice. It's always better when there's a good comedian on stage--someone who can have fun with people. Jackman's an interesting choice. They're probably trying to get women to tune in.
We'll see how he does.
I agree with you, winning Sexiest Man of the year didn't do him any harm. I would have loved to see Gervais get the nod but I have a feeling he is too risky for what is still a pretty traditional night for Hollywood.
