In Memorium - Oliver Postgate

The creator of shows I grew up with as a kid like Bagpuss, The Clangers and Ivor the Engine (a real nod to my Welsh heritage there!) died last week aged 83.  TV.com reports:

"The artist and puppeteer created many of Britain's most-loved children's programmes including Ivor the Engine and The Clangers. Oliver Postgate, who died on Monday at a nursing home in Broadstairs, East Kent, created classic children's programming for three decades. Providing both the voices and narration to his stories, his creations proved popular with viewers with his 1970s animation Bagpuss topped several polls of Britain's favourite children's shows. His family reported that he died this week and in honour of his passing, here is a collection of his most famous shows:
