OK so the movie award season is almost upon us so we should get our calenders ready and prepare to set our Tivos to search for any actor or actress that is gushing as if they just cured a major disease. Over the top recipient reactions aside (yes that includes you Ms Berry) I love to watch these award shows on TV and so here are the three big dates to jot down:
The Golden Globes (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) - January 11th 2009
The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild) - January 15th 2009
The Academy Awards (The Oscars!) - February 22nd 2009
The nominations for the Golden Globes are only two days away when Brooke Shields will join HFPA President Jorge Camara and previously announced celebrities Elizabeth Banks, Terrence Howard and Rainn Wilson to announce the Nominations for the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday morning, December 11, 2008 at The Beverly Hilton. The SAG Awards nominations are followed on December 18th and then it's the big one with the Academy Award nominations being made on Thursday, January 22, 2009 (5:30 a.m. PT!!) at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
Many people like to have Award Parties in their homes and I think that might be the way I go this year for either the Golden Globes or the Oscars. It can be a really fun night when the champagne is flowing and people are filling in their guesses for "Best this that or the other" on their homemade winners checklist.
