Being the big Rachel Griffiths fan that I am it was a major disappointment to me that the next TV show she would appear in regularly would be Brothers and Sisters. Granted I could probably watch the show just waiting for her appearances and still enjoy her acting but frankly I would be sitting there thinking 'this is what Brenda did after Nate died????'. It is one of the shows with the common premise of an extended family drama that I find almost painfully annoying to watch. Add to that Sally Field and Calista Flockhart (is that a stage name?!) and the fact that ABC knew what they were doing when they scheduled it to follow another of my TV nightmares, Desperate Housewives and you have a show that I simply cannot watch. Am I alone in finding Flockhart one of the most annoying actors on TV? Ally McBeal was televisual torture for me and I wasn't alone in the criticism of this show as trivial and vacuous.
So I will pass on Brothers and Sisters and as usual it is amazing the number of people who don't share my view!
