Expectation is not the word for this show from the creator of my favorite TV series, Six Feet Under. Alan Ball must have also felt the weight of anticipation as he launched his first TV project for the same network that gave us 6 happy and sometimes not so happy years chez Fisher. In some ways the show couldn't be more different from turn of the millennium Los Angeles to modern day Louisiana the characters are a world apart in so many ways.The show was well shot, beautifully staged, especially the nighttime scenes which really evoked a hot night in Louisiana (yes I have experienced one of those!).
Tru Blood ultimately stood the test of any pilot TV show by engaging you and leaving you wondering just what will become Anna Paquin and her band of Vampire-curious friends.
Well done Mr Ball, it appears you have me hooked once again.
