Tonight sees the return of Kitchen Nightmares to the Fox fall line up and I love this show. I watched the first couple of seasons of Hell's Kitchen but by the third season it was becoming contrived and something akin to a WWE match with staged scenes and over the top screaming. Kitchen Nightmares has a more genuine (as genuine as 'reality' shows can be) feel to it with, what we have to trust, are actual failing businesses being exposed warts and all by Ramsay.
Last season this show was both funny (The Leprechaun looking guy from Long Island) and sad (the inept Brit in the Manhattan Indian restaurant). Hopefully Ramsay will travel beyond New York and California for this new season but should I really want him to? If he ended up in a local restaurant I dine at regularly ... eewww!
If you have seen this show in it's first season you probably know it was born out of the BBC original which is well worth a look and is currently in rotation on BBC America.
