I can't say I will be first in line to see Ghostbusters 3 for which Columbia Pictures have just recruited writers and claim to be serious about moving into production. No word yet as to whether we will see the original cast reprise their roles in particular Bill Murray who has always been an obstacle to a third installment of the franchise.Neither of the movies did it for me (I was 16 when the 1st one came out, surely their target age group?) but the rest of the world disagreed with me as it was the biggest grossing film of 1984.
It's only when these old franchises are resurrected that you dig in and realize there is still a market out there for them (not news to Columbia Pictures obviously). It is extraordinary to find that there is still an official Ghostbusters site, a fansite, podcast etc ... who knew?
