It's back!Like any good TV show when one returns after a long absence it is like an old friend, albeit a violent and amoral one. Last night Vic Mackey was his old self, prowling the Farmington streets like a Bulldog on Steroids and Shane Vendrell was his same toothy, edgy self.
I was always a big fan of NYPD Blue which when it first came onto our screens in September 1993 was considered edgy and fresh. With The Shield creator Shawn Ryan has taken the TV cop series to a new level of intense realism and it will be interesting to see what follows in this popular genre.
So as Vic himself says ... 'Good cop and bad cop have left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop.'
